Description
A lovely, classic Pinot Noir from Adelaide Hills, a region rapidly receiving a reputation as an Australian stronghold for this sought-after and challenging grape variety. The wine shows an attractive dark cherry red to purple colour giving away early signs of its quality. Delicate aromas of red cherries and sour plums, open the way to hints of forest floor and dried herbs arising from the whole bunch production. The palate is filled with classic varietal Pinot Noir attributes, black and red fruited, mid pallet sweet spot, silken & viscous with a spiced acid drive on the finish. Handpicked with 20% whole clusters, hand plunged, basket pressed straight to French Oak for 7 months. Awarded 92pts by Halliday Wine Companion. Drinks well young, but will mid-term aging for 4-6 years will soften tannins and dryness. Serve with duck breast, beef bourguignon or a delicate pasta.
