Description
Introducing our debut wine from the boutique winemakers at George’s Folly, located in the Fleurieu Peninsula of South Australia. This 2016 Pie in the Sky Shiraz will surely suit our northern wine friends as it boasts subtle hints of vanilla and French Oak on the nose and a full-bodied taste with notes of pepper, liquorice, and spice on the palate. Warm nutmeg and cinnamon flavors meld perfectly with the wine’s voluptuous red fruits and a touch of chocolate for a delightful finish. It’s an excellent choice for enjoying during cold weather in the company of good friends, preferably by a roaring fire. If you prefer a classic Shiraz, this wine is right up your alley. It has already been cellared to perfection but will continue to develop for up to 5-8 years. Pair it with a hearty steak, lamb shanks, slow-cooked meats, casseroles, or pungent cheeses like Gruyere and Parmesan. Alternatively, it’s a fantastic accompaniment to a gourmet pie.
