Description
Taltarni is well-known for producing estate-grown red wines that are highly regarded for their longevity and ability to improve with age. The winery’s focus on crafting big, full-bodied reds has been a cornerstone of their pedigree. And this particular wine is truly exceptional, having received a 95-point rating from James Halliday and The Premier’s Trophy for Best Wine in Victoria at the 2021 Victorian Wine Show. Made from estate-grown fruit harvested from the oldest Shiraz vines (Block 21) on the Taltarni estate, this wine includes 5% mourvedre to enhance its balance and has been matured for 16 months in French oak. With a supple mouthfeel and a long, well-balanced palate, it boasts a vibrant plum red brick color and exhibits enticing aromas of dark berries. Its spicy oak flavors and rich structure make it a perfect match for roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, or game dishes. While it can be enjoyed young, it is also suitable for cellaring for 10 to 20 years.
