Description
Tyrrell’s Wines, an esteemed family-owned Australian wine company established in 1858 by English immigrant Edward Tyrrell, is renowned for their award-winning wines, including the iconic Vat 1 Semillon. Their vineyards span from their historic home on Broke Road in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales to their Heathcote vineyards in Victoria, where they established their vines in 1994. The dry central Victorian climate, characterized by cool nights and warm days, consistently produce some of the best Shiraz grapes in the country. The Rufus Stone range, a customer favourite, is well kept with this full-bodied 2021 Heathcote Shiraz, which has a deep rich red colour and hints of ripe plum, dark cherries, white pepper, and sweet vanillin on the nose. The palate is characterized by big soft fruit, balanced by regional minerality, elegant oak, and natural acid, culminating in a rich, full wine with a complex structure and a long fresh finish. This classic Heathcote Shiraz is ready to drink now but can also be cellared for another 5-7 years, making it an excellent pairing with a juicy steak, venison, or tender lamb.
