Barossa Valley, South Australia
Welland Wines is a boutique Barossa Valley producer rooted in history and renewed through passion. The vineyard, located in the township of Nuriootpa, was originally planted in 1923 by one of the Barossa’s founding families. When the last remaining section of this historic site was earmarked for development, a group of friends — led by Ben and Madeleine Chapman — stepped in to preserve and restore it.
Through careful replanting, new trellising, and gentle irrigation, the vineyard has been reborn, producing rich, generous, and beautifully balanced wines that reflect both its deep roots and bright future.
The philosophy is simple: make wines they love to drink — expressive Barossa Shiraz from the century-old Welland vines, complemented by fruit sourced from other premium Barossa sites. The result is a collection that honours the past while celebrating a fresh new chapter of Barossa winemaking.
Heritage restored. Barossa reborn.
