Hunter Valley Semillon has long held a global reputation for purity, longevity and distinctive regional character, and in the hands of a benchmark producer like Tyrrell’s, those qualities are assured. Sourced from some of the estate’s finest Semillon vineyards — largely dry-grown and with an average vine age of over 40 years — this release captures the essence of the style from a superb vintage. The wine was aged on yeast lees to build complexity and enhance mouthfeel, while preserving the hallmark freshness of Hunter Semillon. On the nose, it is lively and expressive, offering bright citrus and delicate floral notes. The palate is medium-bodied yet intense, driven by brisk acidity and impressive length, delivering both precision and energy. Drinking well already for its freshness and vitality, yet built with the structure to age gracefully for over a decade, developing greater depth and complexity over time. A natural partner to rich seafood dishes such as prawn ravioli or smoked salmon, lemon and garlic roast chicken, or a selection of Cheddar, Gouda or Manchego-style cheeses. A classic Hunter Semillon — vibrant, refined and quietly powerful.

Few names are as woven into Australia’s wine story as Tyrrell’s. Founded in 1858 by English immigrant Edward Tyrrell, the family planted their first Shiraz and Semillon vines in the Hunter Valley — beginning a legacy that now spans over 160 years and five generations.
Still family-owned and operated, Tyrrell’s remains a true pioneer of Australian winemaking. From the creation of the iconic Vat 1 Semillon to the groundbreaking Vat 47 Chardonnay, Vat 8 Shiraz Cabernet and Vat 9 Shiraz, their wines have become benchmarks of quality and character — earning more than 5,000 awards along the way.
The estate’s vineyards stretch across the Hunter Valley and into Heathcote, Victoria, with some vines over a century old.
