Often affectionately referred to as a “Baby Barolo,” MINOT Nebbiolo d’Alba offers an accessible and beautifully composed expression of 100% Nebbiolo from Monforte d’Alba. Crafted by the Negretti family in Barolo, this wine delivers a genuine glimpse into the character and structure of its more famous big brother — refined, aromatic and quietly confident. In the glass, it shows a vibrant violet-red hue with shiny amaranth tones. The nose is lifted and expressive, opening with ripe fruit, cherry and raspberry, framed by subtle floral and herbal nuances. There’s an immediate sense of freshness and clarity that draws you in. The palate begins smoothly, unfolding flavours of ripe currants and red berries, guided by lively acidity. Gentle notes of chamomile and menthol add complexity and lift, while the texture remains silky and graceful. The finish is elegant and evolving, with a soft mouthfeel and a delicate hint of vanilla lingering on the aftertaste. Drinking beautifully now on the back of our careful cellaring, yet with the balance and structure to be stored comfortably for another few years. A natural match for tomato-based pasta, gnocchi or pizza, as well as chicken or veal casseroles such as classic Osso Bucco Milanese.
