Description
From a true boutique winery in Currency Creek, South Australia the winemakers at Beklyn Wines are dedicated to only making this one wine each vintage, and what a beautiful wine it is! Their Shiraz Clone 1654 grapes are carefully nurtured to maturity and picked as flavour development in the berries peak, and in the winery their gentle and carefully considered approach continue yielding wine with a vibrant deep red hue while maintaining the maximum fruit flavour. The wine shows aromas of berries and spice with a soft oak influence accredited to the quality of fruit and the measured use of French oak. The full-bodied and dry palate will fill the mouth with savoury flavours and finishes with fine tannins and a hint of pepper. It will indeed improve over the 3-5 few years in bottle, but don’t be afraid to open it today! And if you serve it up next to a medium-rare steak the stars will surely align. However, this food-friendly wine lends itself to a wide range of foods and cuisines, including smoky grilled eggplant, roast leg of lamb, or Greek-style lamb or goat dishes with piles of fresh herbs.
