FOOD PAIRING
A benchmark Cabernet Sauvignon from Mendoza’s acclaimed Uco Valley, the Gran Lurton 2017 stands as a testament to Argentina’s ability to craft world-class wines beyond Malbec. Deeply rooted in exceptional terroir and meticulous winemaking, it delivers structure, elegance, and power in perfect harmony. A wine of history and acclaim — the first Argentinian label to win gold at the International Wine Challenge and recipient of 95 points from James Suckling — this vintage reflects both prestige and place. In the glass, a deep ruby hue sets the stage for an elegant bouquet of spice, clove, coffee, and vanilla. The palate is full-bodied and complex, unfolding layers of dark fruit, cedar, and subtle oak toast supported by fine, persistent tannins. Notes of vanilla and spice linger through a long, refined finish, showcasing both the precision of the winemaking and the natural intensity of the Uco Valley. A natural match for eye fillet, prime game cuts, or roast lamb — dishes that complement its depth and structure. For an elevated pairing, try it alongside truffle-infused sauces or aged hard cheeses, where its savoury dimension truly shines. Impeccably balanced on release yet built to mature gracefully gaining further depth and complexity with time.

BODEGA PIEDRA NEGRA
14.0
After searching across Argentina for the perfect place to plant vines, French winemaker François Lurton found what he was looking for high in the Uco Valley — at the foot of the majestic Andes. In a semi-desert landscape of gravelly soils and pure mountain air, he saw potential where few others dared to look.
In the late 1990s, François established Bodega Piedra Negra on 200 hectares of untouched land in Chacayes, pioneering sustainable viticulture in the region long before it became fashionable. His instinct was right: the combination of altitude, sunshine, and mineral soils gives these wines their signature balance of freshness, depth, and elegance.
Today, the Uco Valley is celebrated as one of South America’s most exciting wine regions — and Piedra Negra remains one of its benchmarks. Visitors can explore the estate on horseback, take in sweeping views of the Andes, and experience firsthand how this once-remote corner of Mendoza became a world-class terroir.
