Description

A deeply expressive and indulgent Tawny port that showcases both time and craftsmanship – a blend of carefully selected vintages brought together to create a wine of richness, warmth and layered complexity.  In the glass, it reveals a garnet red hue with a distinctive hazelnut edge, hinting at its age and evolution. The nose is intense and enveloping, unfolding with aromas of juicy prunes, raisins and sultanas, intertwined with notes of coffee and dark chocolate.  The palate is rich and luxurious, offering a seamless interplay of dark chocolate, espresso and fruit cake, layered with dried fruits and a touch of sweet spice. There is both depth and softness here, with extended time in oak lending complexity and a silky texture, while fine tannins carry the wine into a smooth, lingering finish.  Crafted from Shiraz and Grenache across multiple old vintages, the fruit is hand-picked late in the season as the berries naturally concentrate, then fermented in open-top fermenters before fortification. The wine is matured in seasoned French oak for extended ageing, before careful blending across vintages to achieve its signature Tawny style.  A perfect companion to rich desserts, chocolate, aged cheeses or simply enjoyed as a contemplative after-dinner pour.  Drinking beautifully now and designed to be enjoyed over time once opened, offering consistency, depth and timeless appeal in every glass. Can also be cellared for several more decades if you have the patience.
