A landmark wine and for Label Wines an exciting first from Chile, Clos de Lolol Tinto hails from the beautiful Lolol Valley in Colchagua — a region celebrated for its depth, structure and sense of place. Crafted by Hacienda Araucano, this is a wine that unfolds slowly, revealing its complexity layer by layer with poise and confidence. Aged for 18 months in a mix of first- and second-fill French oak, the blend brings together Syrah, Carmenère, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon in a finely tuned composition. In the glass, it shows a deep, intense red colour. The nose is expressive and layered, opening with blackberry and black cherry, followed by tobacco leaf, cloves and warm spices, all framed by subtle oak influence. On the palate, the wine enters with authority — concentrated, broad and deeply flavoured. Dark fruits are carried by a supple yet structured tannin profile, giving the wine both power and finesse. There’s intensity here, but also balance, with a long, composed finish that reflects both careful winemaking and the strength of the Lolol Valley terroir. A natural match for game meats, braised red meats or richly spiced dishes like tagines, where its depth and structure really shine. Drinking beautifully now, yet built with the concentration and balance to evolve gracefully for another decade. A serious, elegant red that marks a compelling new chapter — one that rewards patience while offering plenty of pleasure today.

In the quiet heart of Chile’s Colchagua region, the Lolol Valley is a place of balance — ocean breezes meet mountain light, granite soils meet gentle mists. It was here that French winemaker François Lurton discovered his vision: to craft wines that express the land itself, pure and unadorned. A pioneer in this valley, he founded Hacienda Araucano in 2000 and built its first bodega on untouched, virgin terroir.
Lurton’s philosophy is simple yet profound: I am a winegrower, and my goal is to express the terroir. Guided by biodynamic and organic practices, he cultivates 26 hectares of certified organic vines, integrating agroforestry by planting native trees such as Quillayes among the rows. Every grape is harvested by hand in the cool morning air, preserving the valley’s natural freshness and vitality.
The result is a collection of wines that embody precision, purity, and place — deeply rooted in the schist and granite soils of Lolol, yet touched by the sea’s whisper.
