A finely detailed Barossa Shiraz built from a mosaic of sites, Head Red Shiraz draws fruit from ten distinct vineyards across the region. A significant portion comes from the cooler, high-altitude, rocky soils of the Eden Valley, bringing freshness, structure and definition to what is a deeply expressive and thoughtfully composed wine. In the glass, it shows a rich ruby-red hue. The nose is layered and complex, opening with blue and purple berries, followed by notes of sage, savoury herbs and a subtle beef-stock character that speaks to both site and restraint in the cellar. The winemaking is deliberately simple, allowing the vintage and Barossa terroir to take centre stage.
