? ? ? We like to call this beauty the Baby Barolo.
Made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes from a vineyard in Monforte d?Alba, and transformed into a medium-bodied, luscious red wine by the winemakers at Negretti in Barolo, this wine offers an excellent and affordable peek into the closely related Barolo wines. The colour is violet-red and shiny amaranth, with aromas of ripe fruit, cherries and raspberries.
The palate starts off smooth, with fresh chamomile and menthol influences, ripe currants and lively acidity. The finish is elegant and developing with a silky, graceful, and soft mouthfeel, ahead of vanilla notes on the aftertaste.
Drinks beautifully already, but will also cellar nicely for another 5-7 years.
Serve this one with tomato-based pasta, gnocchi or pizza, or your favourite chicken or veal casseroles such as Osso Bucco Milanese.
