A truly boutique, small-batch expression of McLaren Vale Shiraz, this Limited Release showcases the precision and ambition of the winemaking team at Ortus. Crafted with absolute selectivity, fruit was hand-picked from just six vines across the entire property, with the aim of capturing maximum intensity, concentration and character. The wine was aged for 18 months in only two carefully chosen one-year-old French oak barrels, allowing fruit and oak to integrate seamlessly before being hand-bottled. In the glass, it reveals a deep, inky purple colour, immediately signalling its seriousness. The nose is intense and layered, opening with forest fruits and blueberry, lifted by subtle floral notes. On the palate, richness and boldness take centre stage. Violet and blackberry flavours are woven together with cracked black pepper and vanilla, while bold yet finely balanced tannins provide structure and drive. The harmony between fruit power and oak complexity is beautifully judged, carrying through to a long, authoritative finish.
