Description
A fantastic new vintage awarded 95pts and GOLD by James Halliday offering exceptional value. This type of blend was first explored in Tuscany in their efforts to create better and more balanced wines, and the winemakers at Plan B! have surely taken this approach even further. The Cabernet Sauvignon (75%) was sourced from the stunning Ferguson Valley in Geographe, while the Sangiovese (25%) was found in Carbanup in Margaret River, and the careful combination of the two has given a beautifully deep red coloured and spiced red fruited wine. Aromas of dark chocolate, sour cherry, fresh plum, bay leaf and leather spice, lead over to a fruit driven palate with tomato leaf tannins lingering in the background. This is a lovely medium to full bodied wine with great structure and crunchy acidity. Has already been allowed some time in bottle and drinks perfectly now but will also cellar for another 3-5 years. Serve this one next to tomato-based pasta, a traditional pizza or most rich and slow cooked meat stews.
