Tempranillo provides the backbone and dry wit, while Viognier adds lift, texture and a touch of playful exuberance. Rusty on one side, polished on the other, this is a wine that thrives on contrast. The Tempranillo is grown high on the slopes of the picturesque Ferguson Valley in Geographe and matured extensively in French oak barriques, building depth and savoury complexity. Just before bottling, a small but meaningful addition of lees-stirred, new-oak-matured Viognier brings aromatic lift and textural intrigue. On the nose, ripe fruit and strawberry notes lead the way. The palate is medium-bodied, silky and succulent, with savoury undertones and a polished, flowing finish. Rich and decadent without heaviness, the wine balances generosity with precision and flair. Drinking beautifully now, yet built with the structure to cellar confidently for the medium term.
