This medium-bodied, dry red captures a fresher, more refined side of Barossa Syrah — expressive without excess, composed rather than showy. In the glass, the wine opens with bright aromas of wild blueberries, gently framed by a subtle cedary oak influence. The winemaking approach favours elegance and detail, with an extended fermentation incorporating a portion of whole bunch fruit and a small addition of Viognier, lending aromatic lift and structural finesse. On the palate, fruit concentration remains front and centre, carried by firm yet silky tannins that give the wine shape and persistence. There’s brightness and balance here, with a flowing texture that allows the fruit to shine while maintaining a savoury, composed finish. Enjoyable now with a little air — decanting for an hour is recommended — yet built with the structure and balance to age gracefully for a decade.
