Description
The 2019 Reserve des Pyrenees is a 6 grape blend made in true French fashion and another Taltarni classic. The beautiful Taltarni vineyard in the Pyrenees wine region of Victoria was established some 50 years ago, after being discovered by John Goelet, a direct descendant of the Guestier wine merchant family of Bordeaux, in a worldwide search for a site comparable to the great vineyards of Bordeaux. And from this exceptional site, Taltarni consistently produces wines of elegance and balance that uniquely express the terroir of this picturesque region, while also proudly implementing environmentally friendly practices that will ensure the long-term quality of their grapes. The Reserve des Pyrenees is certainly no exception and made from a blend of all the 6 core red grape varietals from Taltarni’s Pyrenees vineyard, this really is crafted winemaking at its best. Another wine previously reserved for domestic sales only, but due to our long-standing relationship with the winery we are privileged to also bring this exquisite drop overseas. This precise blend from one of Australia’s premium cool climate red wine areas displays rich blueberry and delicate spice aromas paired perfectly with the intense plum and cassis flavours. The palate is driven by flavour and has a full body finishing with long soft tannins lingering on the palate along with a hint of oak and cloves. Drink now or cellar for 5 – 10 years. And when you do drink it, make sure to pair it up with a grilled sirloin, roast beef or even your favourite lamb dish.
