A compelling expression of a uniquely Australian wine style, Taltarni Sparkling Shiraz 2019 is crafted using the méthode traditionnelle, bringing finesse, balance and structure to this bold category. The wine showcases both technical precision and a confident sense of place. Though proudly un-French in spirit, the wine was aged for six months in French oak barriques before tirage, then spent around ten months on lees to build creamy texture and depth. Following disgorgement, a bright liqueur was added, rounding out the wine while preserving freshness and vibrancy. In the glass, floral aromas lead into flavours of ripe plum and raspberry, supported by spiced chocolate and sweet oak notes. On the palate, the gentle sweetness is beautifully matched with firm, cold-climate tannins from the Pyrenees, creating a velvety texture with poise and elegance. The finish is balanced, expressive and satisfying. Drinking beautifully now, yet with the structure to cellar confidently for up to another few years. A natural match for whole roasted turkey, a generous cheese platter, or enjoyed as an aperitif with a twist. A polished Sparkling Shiraz — bold, refined and interesting.

TALTARNI
2016
14.0
Taltarni’s story begins with place — in the rugged, breathtaking Pyrenees of Victoria, where the land has been sculpted over millennia and treasured for more than a century of winegrowing. Established in 1969 by John Goelet — a descendant of the famed Guestier wine merchant family of Bordeaux — Taltarni was born from a global search for a site worthy of the world’s great vineyards.
With a pioneering spirit, the earliest plantings focused on classic Bordeaux varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The vineyard later expanded to include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier — building the foundations for a diverse and dynamic portfolio of sparkling, red and white wines that continue to reflect the strength of this remarkable region.
Here, stewardship matters. As custodians of this land for the last 50 years, the Taltarni team continues a multi-generational commitment to nurture the soil, preserve the landscape, and create wines that speak clearly of their origin — vibrant, elegant and enduring.
In the cellar, tradition and innovation share the same table. Whether it’s a refined sparkling, a bright white, or a bold Pyrenees red, Taltarni crafts wines with structure, freshness and personality — made for enjoyment, for bringing people together, and for celebrating the simple pleasure of good wine well made.
Born of place. Crafted with purpose.
