Sourced from vineyards both “near” the Welland family’s Barossa home base and “far” across the broader South Australian landscape, the Near & Far Shiraz brings together diverse regional fruit to create a wine designed for sharing around the table.  Carefully picked and fermented with gentle extraction over seven days, the fruit is pumped over regularly to maximise colour, flavour and varietal expression. Subtle maturation with a touch of both French and American oak adds structure and polish while allowing the natural vibrancy of Shiraz fruit to remain firmly in the spotlight.  Displays a gleaming red-magenta hue with lifted aromatics of ripe plum and cherry unfolding alongside notes of spice, smoked meats and fresh red berries. Delicate hints of herbs and a whisper of oak complexity add depth without overshadowing the wine’s generous fruit profile.  The palate is juicy and inviting, offering bright berry fruit layered with gentle spice and savoury undertones. Soft, sleek tannins provide structure while maintaining an easy, flowing texture that makes this Shiraz both satisfying and highly approachable.
