Description
The Clover Hill Vintage Brut Cuvée 2014 is an elegant wine with superb length, truly capturing the essence of the cool climate of Tasmania and a highlight of Clover Hill in its structure and finesse. Clover Hill sparkling wine is sourced from pre-eminent vineyards in Tasmania, an area becoming acknowledged as the premier location for cool climate sparkling wine in Australia and indeed around the world. The 2014 Vintage Brut has received 95pts by James Halliday and called a very smart wine at this price. With a distinct golden hue attributed by yeast development in bottle from over 5 years on lees and the blending of Chardonnay (66%), Pinot Noir (32%) and Pinot Meunier (2%), the wine displays exquisite nutty and toasted notes on the nose with a hint of seaspray and oyster shell. On the palate, it delivers a seamless crisp acid line with a creamy layered palate and the texture, complexity and persistence indicative to the cool climate of the Pipers River Region of Tasmania. The delayed release and extended time in bottle has ensured it drinks well already, but it will also continue to develop for another 5-7 years. Serve as a complex aperitif talking point, or next to seafood or even light chicken dishes.
